I just got back from the Subway on base not to long ago. Man was it packed. It was about lunch time so the line was almost out the door. After about two minutes even more people came in and stood behind me. There were about three of them and they were all in uniform. After a few minutes I got to thinking about it and realized hey, they are in uniform. They are just on their lunch breaks. I bet they would enjoy any extra minute they could get to actually enjoy their lunch and not have to wolf it down. I'm just here with Travis and we are in no hurry.
So I told them they could go ahead of me and they were very grateful and that made my day. Then more people came in. And more. And more. So being me, I decided to just go back and sit down at a table with Travis and drink our drinks (I grabbed some to drink while we wait and pay for when we finally get up there)and wait until the lunch crowd cleared out a bit before heading back up there. There really is no point to this little rant, but I was thinking about my husband. My husband probably would have let one or two people go ahead of us if they were in uniform but no way in heck would he have gotten out of line and let anyone else go ahead of him. Maybe other people wouldn't either and maybe I am stupid like that LOL. It got me to thinking how I have more patience for lines and waiting in traffic than he does. Yet he has more patience in other areas than I do. For example, he has wanted to get some stuff for his truck for over a year now, but let me make a big purchase and buy my camera instead. Then he was going to finally get a grill but we had to get a bed for Travis instead. Instead of bitching and whining about it, like I admitedly would probably do, he just kind of goes with it. So yeah..like I said, no real point to the post I guess. Just felt like type it out.
