Ugh, feel like a tool
So my husband was not able to give us a ride into pre-k this morning. When this happens, which is actually the majority of the time, I walk him there. It's only like a 25 or so minute walk and to me that doesn't seem like that big of a deal. People for some reason though, are always so aghast that I walk him there instead of driving. Like it's a crime or something. So today we step outside and what does it do? It torrential downpours. I think to myself ok, gear up. We put on the raincoats and got out the umbrella. It was raining really hard and fast. I decide maybe we will see if we can catch a ride in with a neighbor that always asks if we want a ride. *sigh* She wasn't home. So we start to walk. We got halfway there and were soaked to the bone, even with raincoats and umbrella. It was thundering and lightening really loud and the puddles were up to our ankles. Finally I made a concious decision. I didn't want to. but I turned us back around and came home. Pre-K is only two and a half hours. He was soaked. He has extra clothes at school but not extra socks and shoes. So we just came home and I called him in. Ironicly as I walked by the neighbors house she pulled into the driveway and said we should have came over. She said her husband had used the car for a minute but had brought it right back. UGH

I for one think you're setting a great example for your son, not to mention making sure he gets daily exercise!
Found your blog on WAHM.com and thought it would be great if we could share links, my blog is all about people in their 20s who are telecommuting, I feel so young on some of the forums and sites, and wanted a gathering place for us youngsters.
