Dry Skin

I don't know if it's the weather, or a reaction to the spray on sunscreen I have been using lately, but my skin has become quite dry and i've been having small breakouts in those areas. I have tried regular sunscreen but it's just so hot out here that it literally melts off of my face and stings my eyes. So I use the spray on that just absorbs into my face. So now I am looking for a nice clean natural acne treatment to treat the dry skin. There is a website called acne treatment reviews that is chock full of consumer reviews on a variety of acne products.

Pez

I wonder if there is a special way your supposed to put the pez in the dispencer. Maybe your supposed to just slide it in all together, directly out of the package. But I have never been able to do that. I have always struggled to put each individual peice inside it, only to have them pop back out again. Yes, this was a very random post lol

No Cell Phones At Camp

I was reading an article that gave me something to think about. It was about how most camps do not allow the use of cell phones or internet for their campers. It's weird, one wouldn't think this would be an issue, until you realize how plugged in we are as a society. I mean think about it..not just the kids texting on their expensive cells and listening to their expensive ipods filled to the brim with music they purchased online, it's me, writing on my blog, checking my e-mail, updating Facebook, etc. We're all guilty of this. I mean i've had weeks where my computer wasn't working or the internet was done for a few days and I wasn't sure what to do with myself. After I got used to it, after the initial "culture shock" of not being able to heaven forbid, check my facebook or look up something on imdb.com, I actually find it rather freeing to have an excuse NOT to get online. It was kind of nice. We are waaaay to plugged in and relied on technology.

You know, i've always said that if I were to lose all the weight I wanted, the one thing I would treat myself to would be maybe some porcelin veneers or teeth whitening. My teeth aren't horrible, they are just not as straight as I would like and some are misshapen. Degrassi

It's pretty cool that this show has been going on for so long with just a few years break. For my generation it was the old Degrassi of the 80s up until '91. Then when I hit age 21 they started The Next Generation. When I was 13 I used to watch the old Degrassi after school everyday. At that point it was 1993 and I was in 7th grade. The old Degrassi series had actually ended about two years before but I still related to it very well as I was only a few years younger than the actors who played the rolls. I catch myself watching alot of the Next Generation episodes as well. Sadly, I think that within the next few years Degrassi may end as I can't see them running the show for 20 more years and just adding new kids every four or five years. I guess they could do that, but I don't think they will.

Star Wars Clone Wars

It's amazing to me that my 5 year old son is obsessed with everything Star Wars. It's kind of sad in a way, because in a year he could forget all about Star Wars and become obsessed with something new. Like a year ago he was obsessed with Disney's Cars and before that it was everything Mickey Mouse. Now Mickey Mouse doesn't hold his interest at all. Now even though he has hundreds of Matchbox cars he mostly plays with Star Wars toys. Who knows what it will be next.

Summer

It's amazing how fast the summer slips away from us. It's already June 26th. I can't beleive it. My son's last day of school was on June 10th and already it's almost July. Summer goes by way to fast. The nice thing about summer is that other than the 4th of July, there are no major holidays and no gift giving holidays. Debts from Christmas are paid off by now, so we have a teensy bit of money we are able to spend now. I'm looking at the decent priced electronics over at Buy.com. Now would be a good time to get a GPS system or a digital camera for someone's birthday and just set it aside until that day happens.

Michael Jackson

When I woke up this morning and learned that Farrah had died, I wasn't shocked. I was sad for her family, but I wasn't surprised as I knew she wasn't doing well. I WAS shocked to learn that Michael Jackson had passed away. It's such a weird thing. He was so brilliant but there was so much about his life that was eccentric and tragic. No matter what you thought of his personal life, whether he did or didn't do the things he had been accused of, no matter how oddly he dressed, he was a musical genious and I wish things had gone better for him. So sad. Rest In Peace Farrah and Michael.

Perez Hilton

I just don't know about this guy. He can be such a slimeball, consantly berating celebs about their hairstyles, weight (even though he himself has battled the bulge!!), significant others, the way they dress, every little minor detail about them. He says Beth Ditto(who is very obese) is awesome but calls someone with a slight tummy bump unhealthy. He is a constant hypocrit. Yet, sometimes he will be such a nice guy and tries to be an advocate for good causes. He's quite the annoying individual. While I don't promote violance, I can't say I feel very sorry for him for being punched by whoever he was punched by. It's true, no matter what you say, no one has the right to actually physicly harm you, but you know what? Don't be surprised if someone actually DOES try, because words do hurt people and there is only so much someone can take. And while we're being honest, Perez Hilton has NO room to talk about anyone else's weight, hairstyle, clothing choices or anything of that nature. Look in the mirror buddy. P.U.

Skateboard Parks

Skateboarding has come along way over the years. When I was younger it was just a bunch of kids practicing on the sidewalks, not very good, but giving it a try. Then they started having skateboard parks where all the skateboarders could go and play safely without the worry of cars or hurting other people by accident. Little House On The Prairie

So this episode is one that I have always thought was utterly heartbreaking. Albert and another young boy are down in the basement of the (blind school I think?), where they are set to totally remodel and add an addition on to the buidling. The boy has swiped someone's pipe and convinces Albert to take a hit from it. They both cough and sputter and are startled when someone calls them upstairs for dessert. They leave the pipe, still lit, down stairs in a basket of what appears to be clothes as they head upstairs, complely forgetting about it.
